Color Hues Challenge #83 - Cream and Blue - Sealed Flowers and Wax Seal Hello

Hello,

March 16th has certainly come quickly, hasn't it! Seemed but a blink ago that it was January 1st...and we whooshed through that month and February, too. Of course, mid-month brings a new Colour Hues Challenge and, as your hostess, I've selected hues of Cream and Blue as inspiration for the next two weeks. Both combinations invite a range of hues/shades, so hopefully, you'll find a pairing that speaks to you.

My amazing teammates, as well as our guest designer, Steph, have lovely inspiration to spark your creativity.

I've become a bit obsessed with wax seals, recently, so I decided to share a couple plays I had with them for this challenge. My card designs are far from original, with inspiration coming from Spellbinder's designers. Even so, I added a couple of my own touches.

I decided not to use a gold highlight pen on my seals for a couple of reasons - the pen is quite, shall we say, 'fragrant' and I didn't want to mess up the seals with my inability to wield the pen skillfully on such delicate images. As a result, I've shared my cards in a larger format, so you can see how pretty the seals are. The first is an floral envelope 'Hello' (which matchy-matches my card); the second is 'Just A Note', which can be used as that, or as 'just a note' for a specific occasion, shared inside.

Looking forward to seeing how Cream and Blue inspire you!

The challenge will remain open until March 29th at 9 am!

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Thank you for dropping by!

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #717, where our wonderful hostess, Bobby, has planned a special two week collaboration with the Time Out Challenge. The theme: Birds. How cool is that!

By entering the linky tool on the Just Us Girls blog you will automatically also join Time Out. An easy peasy two-for-one entry, right!

The bonuses: Your project will gain twice the visibility. You'll  double your chances to be chosen as a design team favorite and your project may be showcased in one of the challenge blogs. Whether you join from Time Out or from Just Us Girls, you also have a chance to win $25.00 store credit to Waffle Flower Crafts. Talk about fabulous opportunities.

We're also delighted to have Tracy McNeeley joining us once again as our March Guest Designer.

My card features LDRS stamps, stencils and dies, part of the collection of products included in the Crop and Create Delivered Cardmaking September 2023 event. The roses are lovely - and the set also includes two versions of hummingbirds, one of which I've shared here.

Looking forward to seeing which feathered friends you'll share in the gallery.

Just Us Girls Challenge #717 - Color Week - Green, Lime Green plus one other colour - Dragon Love and Lucky (TH Rupert, MCT, WF)

Hello

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #717, where our lovely hostess, Stephanie, invites us to use Green, Lime Green and one other color of your choice as inspiration this week. So many colours go well with green, especially with St. Patrick's Day, Easter and Spring approaching.  Neutrals are also fine.

We're delighted to have my wonderfully talented - and Canadian friend - Tracy McNeeley joining us as our March Guest Designer.

I'm sharing two Ruperts, by Tim Holtz, sporting green, lime green and light blue, for this challenge. The first is a 'Lucky' dragon (circle sentiment from Waffle Flower/flower and four-leaf clover from MCT) while the second...

is a "Love" dragon (prim hearts from MCT, xoxo from C & 9th).
Isn't he a handsome lad!

Looking forward to seeing your green, lime green and 'other colour' triad.

Thank you for dropping by!

Color Hues Challenge #82 - Turquoise and Green - You're My Favorite (Concord and 9th Enchanted Hearts)

Hello,

Welcome to Color Hues Challenge #82, where our lovely hostess, Tracey, invites us to play with hues of Turquoise & Green for the next two weeks. Certainly, a combination that transitions well from March into Spring.

We're delighted to have Tenia joining us as our Guest Designer; welcome!

Concord and 9th's Enchanted Hearts makes its debut...and yes, I may have done some inlay. Love the look but it did take a few minutes....okay, more than a few minutes! A LOT of minutes, especially to fit the bitty dots in their bitty spaces. One and done; I've found work-arounds to get pretty results minus the squinting and select 'language' I may have blurted out a time or two.  LOL!

Looking forward to seeing how you create magic with Turquoise and Green.

The challenge will be open until March 14th @ 9 AM EST!

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge goes live.
The overall winner will have the opportunity to be a
future Guest Designer!

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #716 - CASE a DT Week - Cheerful Panda Love (Alex Syberia Cheerful Pandas, Concord & 9th Love, SL Hearts)

Hello,

Happy Leap Day 2024 and welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #716, where we invite you to CASE a Design Team Member. The 'rules' are simple:
  • select one of our Design Team cards and
  • make it your own based on whatever sparked your creativity: the colors, elements, theme, style, etc.
In your description, tell us whose card you chose, what inspired you and how you translated that inspiration into your version. We're excited to see who and what caught your eye!

Behind the scenes this month, I set a personal challenge: to focus on creating love-themed cards that showcased at least two of the following: hearts, the word 'love', pinks and/reds. I wound up with close to 28 cards (some duplicates) which I'll bundle for my niece and nephew for those days when they need a little paper love from Aunty c. I'm hoping to see them in March, so that will be 'one' of their birthday gifts (hard to believe my niece will be 14 on the 3rd and my nephew 12 on the 12th).

This card features the cutie-patootie pandas from Alex Syberia Designs' Cheerful Pandas, a love die from Concord & 9th and stenciled hearts from Studio Light. Those pandas...seriously LOVE!

Lots to CASE if you choose my card (honoured if you do): pandas, colours, stenciling, flowers, cute critter images, black + white + pink + red...

Enjoy CASEing!

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #310 - Mood Board - Just A Note Painted Peony (Concord and 9th, Pigment Craft Co. cover plate, MCT sentiment)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #310, where we have a pastel, minty-pinky, flowers, cake, macarons, cupcakes and cake pops Mood Board as inspiration for the next two weeks. You can see a larger photo over at the challenge blog. Remember: the mood board offers a plethora of launching points for your card/project: images, colours, textures, design and much more. Let us know what caught your eye; I'm sure we'll be dazzled!

Adapted from:
https://bespokeandbeautiful.blogspot.com/2014/10/mood-board-monday-pink-mint-gold.html

Obviously, the bouquet caught my eye, offering opportunity to play with (finally!) my Concord & 9th Painted Peony stamp and die set. Soooo easy to line up - and I quite like that it doesn't have - or, for that matter, need - outline stamps. A combination of Concord and 9th and Altewnew Inks (very old versions!) provided colour; the diamond cover plate from Pigment Craft Co and a sentiment from MCT finishes it off. Of course, I stamped a few more peonies in different colours; they'll make an appearance down the road.

Looking forward to seeing your takes on the Mood Board!
